Values and Ethos
During the 2015-2016 school year, we consulted with pupils, parents, staff and governors to clearly express our vision, aims, values, culture and ethos. These are the definitions we have used:
Vision - a plan for the future with imagination and wisdom
Aims - the purpose, intention or desired outcome
Values - the principles or standards of the organisation
Culture - the ideas, customs and behaviour of the organisation
Ethos - the characteristic spirit of the organisation, as manifested in its attitudes and aspirations

CUTLURE
Granby Primary School promotes a growth mindset culture, based on the work of teacher and psychologist, Carol Dweck. She says:
"Growth mindset is where pupils understand that their talents and abilities can be developed through effort, good teaching and persistence... They believe everyone can get smarter if they work at it:
(Standford University's Carol Dweck on the Growth Mindset and Education. OneDublin.org)
This is summarised in our vision as our belief that... You can!
