Granby Governors
GRANBY GOVERNORS
The Full Governing Board meets twice every term. The first termly meeting focusses on School Improvement Planning (SIP) issues; the second, addresses general governance issues. In addition, governors meet every term with the phase leaders in a phase forum to examine the data and other issues in more detail for each of the four phases: Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, Lower Key Stage 2 (years 3 and 4), and Upper Key Stage 2 (years 5 and 6). There is also a Finance, Premises, Health & Safety Committee and a Pay & Personnel Committee - both meet termly. Finally, the Chairs of each committee, phase forum, the Chair and Vice Chair of Governors, and the Headteacher meet approximately twice a term to strategically plan the work of the governing body. This group is known as the Executive Committee.

GOVERNING BOARD MISSION STATEMENT
The governing board promotes high standards of educational achievement within a safe environment. We do this by having a strong focus on our three strategic functions:
- ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
- holding the head teacher and senior leadership team to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff; and
- overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
In fulfilling our core functions, we will:
- have the quality of children’s learning at heart;
- be united around a common vision shared with the headteacher and staff, and expressed in the school improvement plan; and
- have clear and achievable goals.
