National Anti-Bullying Week 2017 took place from Nov 13th – Nov 17th and this year’s theme was ‘All different, all equal.’
As usual a number of activities took place within school to help raise the profile of the topic and the importance of taking action against bullying throughout the year.
Classes were asked to design a screen saver, to help promote the anti-bullying message. The Student Council judged each classes designs and found a class winner, before finally selecting an overall winner. This year’s screen saver design was created by Lilac Smith in 4C! The design featured on all the pc’s, laptops and interactive whiteboards from Monday through to Friday. All the winning designs can be found on the website.
Lisa Coombs, Anti-Bullying Co-ordinator within school delivered and assembly on Thursday November 16th to KS2. She discussed what bullying was, what it wasn’t, the various types of bullying and how to report bullying within school. She stressed the need to be able to talk to someone about it and use of the STOP boxes.
Pupils will be completing an online questionnaire about the issue within school in the coming weeks.
