Miss Lawrence is the Class Teacher, with Mrs Knight teaching on a Wednesday.
Miss McDonnell, Miss Fowkes, Mrs Robinson and Mrs Anderson are the Assistant Teachers that work in the Bumblebees.
We look forward to sharing our learning with you.
Design & Technology: We finished our unit on pirates by designing and making our own puppets.
Pirate Day: A day of map reading, solving mathematical pirate problems, pirate fitness, memory skills and discovering the pirate cove!
Enterprise Week: The children worked hard using their creativity and co-operation building blocks to design and create our own Fruity Fizz stall. The children enjoyed being shop keepers, rounding up customers and giving out change. We raised £62.90 for RSPCA.
We had a WILD day! We dressed up & created poems and crafts based on the story Where The Wild Things Are. We even had our own rumpus.
We have been exploring foods to find out if they are fruits or vegetables. We tasted some fruits and vegetables that we were less familiar with such as mango, spinach, avocado and pomegranate seeds. Using the left overs, we created patterns and pictures using the printing technique. In D&T, we have tasted existing smoothies in preparation for making our own.
This year we learnt a new Christmas sign each day during December. Here are some of our favourites.
We read the story Santa Selfie by Peter Bently and then took some of our own Christmas selfies!
Victorian Toy Workshop: We got to play with a range of toys from the past. We noticed they were mainly made from wood, metal and fabric. Many of the toys were push and pull toys.
Art: WALT create observational drawings using line and shape.
During our art lesson, not only did we have a go at using line and shape to create an observational drawing, we also used our building blocks; concentration, mindfulness and independence.
Numeracy: We have been developing our number, addition and shape knowledge during the first half term.
PSHCE: We know how to be a good friend! We made friendship bracelets.
