3C Grasshoppers
Welcome to 3C Grasshoppers Class Page
This page is where we will showcase the amazing work the children in our class have created. We will also be sharing photographs of the fantastic learning opportunities that children within Year 3 have had.
The adults that work in 3C are:
Mrs Cosgrove and sometimes Miss Tovey
Miss Taylor – Assistant Teacher
Winter's Child
Our English book for this term is Winter's Child. We are going to write a setting description using the skills we have been learning, like adjectives, interesting verbs, the conjunctions "and," "but" and "or" and saying "where" or "when" something is happening. We will also try to use some new skills, like possessive apostrophe phrases (the tree's frosty branches) and the conjunctions because, when and then.
Mrs Cosgrove wrote a description of the first picture in the book. When she put her description into the school's AI, she got this picture.

We are hoping to try this with the children's descriptions too. Watch this space!

One late morning, the clear chilly icicles hung on a cave, then the icicles fell. The dark massive waterfall fell on the frozen lake. The icy petrifying cave stood behind the polar bears. The sweet small polar bear peeped over the rocks because they were looking for food. The cute white polar bears cuddled. The reindeer walked on the snow slowly. The scaly wet fish leapt over the lake to get to the other side. The magical huge reindeer flew in the air with two boys on the reindeer.

The long, spiky, icicles fell in the middle of the night and made a loud sound. The tall, long trees froze behind the blue sky. The chaotic, fast reindeer ran on top of the waterfall. The black, fast fish swam in the cold, frozen, blue water. The huge sleepy polar bear slept on the freezing cold ice. The long frozen lake broke in the middle of winter.

The frozen, blue mountain stood above the cold waterfall when the snow arrived. The long, wet icicles under the cliff. The cold blue sky loomed. The dark, dusty rocks smashed on top of the lake. The giant, flying reindeer jumped, then flew away. The white, sleepy polar bears slept on the frozen lake.
Well done year 3, you wrote some wonderful descriptions.
